FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSWill I receive a certificate? Yes. SLI will grant you a certificate indicating the Spanish training course, the level and its duration, and the international cooperation or internship program. How can I know my level of Spanish for my registration? On the first day of the Spanish training course you will be evaluated to help us to determine the level of the Spanish lessons: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Superior. How long is a program and when can I begin? You decide the length of your program. Normally programs last between four months and one year. Programs can begin at any time. At SLI we adapt to your needs. Can I extend the program if I am already in Spain or Peru? Yes. Just let us know. We will do everything possible for extending the length of the Spanish training, the international cooperation program or the internship. However, we can not guarantee it because it will also depend on the host company or the institution where you are placed. There is usually no problem with accommodation. However if this happens during the high season and another student already has a reservation, you would have to change accommodation. If that is the case, you do not have to worry; we will arrange another. In the chart of prices you will find the charges per day and per extra week. Are learning materials included in the Spanish training course? Yes. Books and materials are provided to you for the Spanish training. There is no additional cost. Can I register at the last moment? Remember that we design an individual program for each person. We need enough time for preparing your stay in Segovia (Spain) or in Huancayo or Satipo (Peru), but under special circumstances we can organize it with a short notice. If that is the case, you may start the program without knowing your host institution for the internship or the international cooperation work. However, if you need a visa, you have to account for at least a two month period necessary to get it. If you reserve your course two or more months in advanced, you will benefit from a 5% discount. When should I be in Segovia? The program begins the day listed as the first day of the program. Let SLI know in advance when you expect to start the Spanish training course. That will allow us to send you the necessary information so you can easily get to your accommodation. If you arrive before your expected date, you should notify us so we can make the necessary arrangements for you. Remember that you will have to pay the extra days. If you want us to pick you up at the airport or at the train station in Madrid, do not forget to notify us. Transportation from/to the airport in Peru is included in the program fee. There you will always be accompanied by an SLI coordinator. What should I do when I get to Segovia (Spain) or to Lima (Peru)? If you did not notify us before hand of the time of your arrival in Segovia, you can call us at the following telephone number, (34) 634 617053, and we will tell you immediately what to do. We will take you to your accommodation. In Lima you will be pickep up by an SLI coordinator who will take you to your destination (Hunacayo or Satipo). Do I have to take a test the first day of the Spanish training course? Yes. All the students that have some kind of knowledge of Spanish will have to take an oral evaluation and a written evaluation so we can determine your level. Do I have to attend to all classes? In order for you to get the best of your stay in a Spanish speaking country you should attend the classes and activities of the course. Class attendance is obligatory. Repeated or unjustified absences could affect receipt of your certificate. Justified absence implies an important cause. You need to have a minimum of attendance -70%- in order to get the certificate. Will I only speak Spanish during the classes and the international cooperation work or internship? No. The SLI encourages the maximum profit from the program with learning experiences beyond of the classroom. In your international cooperation or internship placement you will immerse in the Spanish language and culture. Sports and outdoors activities will also provide excellent opportunities to deepen your knowledge of Spanish language and culture. If you are staying with a family or in a shared aparment you will have the opportunity to practice Spanish at home. Who will advise me about the activities that I can partake of in my free time? Can I change accommodation? Yes, as long as it is possible and that you notify it to SLI. We will always work for you to have an optimal experience.
