At SLI we have three main objectives. That you…
In order to reach these goals, we have developed a system that is characterized by the following:
Our programs have two parts: In the first part of the program, you will have training in Spanish in Spain (Segovia) or in Peru (Huancayo or Satipo). You will decide if you want to do the Spanish course in Spain or in Peru.
In the mornings you will have one-to-one or small group Spanish lessons. The methodology in our courses is based on the concept of language as a tool for interactive communication. The courses follow an active method where participation and interaction are constant. Spoken communication is prioritized. It is combined with written Spanish and the teaching of grammar in significant contexts. Daily lessons also include activities outside the classroom. SLI considers that personalized interaction is essential for the student to learn. That is why SLI teachers are concerned that the students feel comfortable and satisfied, and feel the enjoyment of learning. The teachers of SLI have university degrees with a high level of pedagogic training. They understand that each student has his/her own learning style and uses different learning strategies. Each student constructs his/her knowledge from their own experiences and previous knowledge. Because of this, we offer one-to-one or small group lessons, the teachers offer individualized attention and the classes are interactive. In the afternoons you will have the opportunity of participating in visits, excursions, leisure activities, etc… We will help you organizing it, and often we will accompany you if that is your desire. The length of your period of training in Spanish language skills before you start the internship or the international cooperation work will depend on your level of Spanish and the needs of the work that you will carry on; and it will be decided by you with our advice before you register for the program. For the second part of the program, you will move on to your internship or international cooperation work destination. You have three options.
You will have an on-site tutor in the host company or institution, and the program will be also supervised by an SLI coordinator. While you are doing the internship or the international cooperation work you still have the opportunity of taking one-to-one Spanish lessons to complement the work. This should be decided at the time of registration.
